.................cam cover thing d00dad container....................

here is an easy one. and real cheap.

grab a little piece of acrylic,
mark it off for trimming,
and amputate the excess with whatever device you have handy.................
.
.
.

.
.
.
next, clean up the edge with disc sander or whatnot............
.
.
.

.
.
.
now we want to move over to the drill press to bore and countersink for the screws.............
.
.
.

.
.
.
place your chosen d00dad in the cavity
screw on the acrylic disc.

that's it. done.

one more thing I almost forgot.....

when you are shrinking your d00dad down,
be very careful placing it in the black cauldron,
and only Pecan Wood is acceptable for the cooking.
and, stir often for the first three daze.
then bury the d00dad in the sand for a minimum of seven weeks
before placement in the
cam cover thing....

now. if your d00dad lifts an eyelid, do NOT make eye contact.

actually, it is best to staple the eyelids down,
as opposed to simply stitching them closed...................

Where can I acquire a d00dad without the cutting, boiling, simmering, stirring, and burying?

OK, silly newb question, but if I pull the cam cover (which you replaced with acrylic) will it already have the "cup" where the d00dad lives? Or is that "cup" part of an upgrade I missed somewhere in the past 2,000 or whatever posts?

I do know the 006 and up twincams have this cavity.

don't remember exact year it changed,
earlier tc's had access to electrics behind that cover.

The dead space cam cover were first produced in 2001, part # 25362-01, the 99 -00 Twin Cams had a small hole in the bottom of the "cup" .

+1; '99-'00 models have the camshaft position sensor installed in the "cup"...

and ya might not wanna throw that cam sensor away...
Back in the Day, we used to dimple the tanks and put scorpions, dice or whatnots in the dimple after painting, and fill with acrylic. That would be a neat display, big ugly googoohead in there!
