Chipstah: Did you have to modify your fork gaiters? When you had them installed originally did they fit over the stock lower end caps?

Yep, I have the same question.

Also... is that some kind of clamp you put over them, at the bottom?

Thanks!

Yes - they needed to be trimmed/cut down to length, and were a bit tight, which was good IMO, and they fit w/o the end caps and are held with the SE fork brace (powder coated) - think you should be able to see it in the post above pretty well and maybe here, too:

Sorry str33tb0b for taking so long to reply, tried to answer your pm of a while ago a number of times and look you up on the forum member search, but kept getting emails kicked back saying no such user (???) and promptly forgot to check this thread. Oops!

I used a plastic tooth brush end and hair spray... i know it sounds weird... that is how i did it... same way you get grips on your bike... the tooth brush end will not scratch anything but will still allow you to pry them out a bit causethey are pretty tough, the hair spray will lube it up and then dry not allowing it to slip off... then you just get a damp cloth to wipe off the excess... neat trick using hair spray... i use it whenever i got to get something rubber on that i do not want to come off... WOW could have gone in a total wrong direction with that one! but ya i have mine pulled down so just a thin layer of chome shows though...

Chipstah, you mentioned taking the brake caliper off when sliding the forks out of the triple tree.

Did you have to bleed the brakes afterward?

Unbolted mine and tied them to the frame legs to keep them out of the way . JUST DO NOT PRESS THE LEVER WHEN THEY ARE OFF !!! Better still stick something thick between the pads - mistakes happen.

Just cut the ends off and work them over your Dust caps. Its a PIA but well worth the effort.
