The info on the air box is correct. If the black plastic housing is gone...your at stage one with those pipes.
Mine is jetted just right and I also get that down hill popping. Your loading the engine and not supplying any additional fuel.

Mine still pops sometimes and I've tried different jets. Right now I'm still running just a bit rich but thats ok (my main jet now is a 170). I like to load it up and let it go underneath overpasses when my buddies are behind me so they can see the flames
