Default How long is the 04 and 05 WG fuel crossover?

Anyone know how long the fuel crossover tube is for the 2004 and 2005 Wide Glides? I am curious if I can use the braided one for recent WGs on my street bob. The non-WG version is about 2" too short.

Thanks!

I have the HD braided fuel line for my 05 WG right here and it is around 5 3/4" long. The original rubber line on my bike is longer for sure. The tubes out of the tank point forward somewhat and that makes the rubber hose bend forwards. Have not installed it yet but when I do, I bet it will be interesting to see if it fits!!! I am hoping the tubes out of the tank are longer than what they seem to be...

If you're just looking for the braided crossover cable, use this part number: 63709-04

That's what I've got on my bike. Unfortunately they don't make them in the diamondback braid but the stainless braid still looks good.

Mike,

I ordered through my dealer the braided line listed in the parts catalog for my '04 DWGI. When it came in it was 1" too short.
The dealer said the number listed in the 04' parts catalog is for the Dyna Glide, not the Wide Glide. Dealer had a corrected part number and reordered it for me. It arrived and I installed it a couple of weeks ago. The slight forward angle of the tubes on the tank made the install "interesting", but after some twisting and grumbling I got in on. Sealed well, no leaks, but the angle of the tubes creates a funky looking forward bend in the braided line. Still looks better than the original black rubber line.

Good luck!

Jim.

Thanks Jim! I will tell ya, it sure looked short to me cause with that forward bend of the tank tubes, this line I have would have to be stretched to work! I will stop by the dealer tomorrow and see what they can do. So 63729-04, which is what I got, "fits '04-later WG's is not right I assume? Thanks for the info, will let folks know what i find...

Hi, Mike.

The catalog lists P/N 63709-04 for 04 and later Dynas. I originally got that part and it will not fit the wide glide.
P/N 63729-04 is the correct number. That's the second part I got and it fits my '04 DWGI. Sorry for any confusion.

Jim.

Well, do me a favor, measure the one on your bike for me. I ordered 63729-04 and it is 5 3/4" long, end to end. NOW, maybe they sent me the wrong part, I don't have the package anymore...The rubber line on my 05 WG is longer than the braided one I ordered.

yep. hang on a second, Mike....be right back.....

From the outside of each nut it's 6-3/4". I think you have the 63709-04
part. I recall when I got that part it was 5-3/4" long and was about 1" too
short.
In fact, if you place it next to the tubes, you'll find the outside end of
the nuts just barely touch the tube ends.
I'd have the dealer double check the P/N they ordered. I know 63729-04 is
correct for the wide glide EFI (and assume that's good for the carb model as
well).

Hope that remedies more confusion that it creates! 8),

Jim
