Swiffer or Pledge soft duster pads..........

Aftera ride, I get a fresh swiffer dusterpad out( use it on the small hand held wand) and quickly clean my rims, wires and any other hard to get to areas on my bike. The places you cant get your hand into. Works like a charm. You should see all the junk this handy item lifts rightoff. After I'm done, I just tossthe duster pad away. It's ultrasoft and squishes into areas you cant imagine. It easily gets in between those wires and gets rid of drydust, grit and grime. If you do this after every ride, you shouldn't have to wash or spray any chemicals on the wheels except for maybe once a year.

I just used a product on my 04 Road king Classic's laced wheels I bought at Auto Zone, Super Clean all Wheel Cleaner in a purple spray bottle, I sprayed it on , waited a minute or two then hosed it off as per instructions. Worked good for me, even the inner hubs shine.

I used Simple Green as someone on here said. I am really impressed with the results. Spray on the spokes & wheels (tires too) let it set for a min and spray it off. great results for me.

I feel that you should wash your bike often. While washing it you can also do a routine inspection of the bike and maybe find something getting loose or going bad before getting back on the road.

Do yourself a favor and get some Lyndall dustless brake pads., This will help eliminate the buildup of brake dust. I'm a shout man too. To keep spokes sparkling takes work, and a lot of it. Get them clean and get the Lyndall's. I use the Z plus.

+1 for what PigInABlanket said. I use the Harley spoke brush and a small sponge with soapy water and a hose, and it takes me 10 minutes total to clean the front and rear spokes/wheels of my 2007 FXDC.

The Harley spoke & wheel brush can be purchased at any Harley dealer for $14.95 and will last for years. It is at HarleyDavidson.com as P/N 43078-99.

Well, I thought I was immune to rust/dirt on the spokes but I found I am not when looking closely at them the other night. It only seems to be on the side by the front caliper so I assume it's from the brake dust that is sticking to the spokes.

Here is what I did. Wash the bike thoroughly with shout. I have never used a soft bristle brush on the spokes but will get one in thenear future. Then the next day I got 0000 steel woll and put some Metal Gloss master gloss, whatever it is called onteh steel wool. I rubbed each spoke with the steel wool metal polish combo. I then polished it off with a rag. I then coated it with master gloss sealer. We'll see how it holds up now.

The rust (or dirt or whatever it was) was very minimal but I want to keep these wheels looking new. Anyway, that's all for now. No need for the Gym when polishing spokes as it is exercise in it's own right.
