trim rings for turn signals
does anyone know how they fasten/install ...i've bought a few harley accessories and took them back off because i didn't like the way they fastened (harley script battery trim- uses 3m tape, chrome slider covers- uses a tiny machine screw that forces them to be crooked).... so was just wondering before i bought them

RE: trim rings for turn signals
I have the chrome trim rings with the smoked lens with amber bulbs. You must push on the lens to snap them in place, not the chrome ring. Once you realize this it takes just a few seconds to install. The lens themselves has the catches on them to hold it place. In two years and 8500 miles not one problem.

i know Sammi...it's probably good stuff...but with the way these things vibrate...and with all the treacherous roads up here in new england, i just didn't want to take a chance.... i mean, it's good quality stuff... but they could have found a better way to fasten like the solid chrome one with nuts and bolts ....and to hell with those chrome billet slider covers... again, really nice piece of work...but the stock ones fasten better and look better on the chrome lowers...
this is just my opinion.... and thanks guys, for letting me know how these trim rings fasten!
oh, and indeed...that relocation kit is horrendous.... i ditched it and bought kury clamps with a 3/4 in spacer and a few jam nuts and it looks a hundred times better

RE: trim rings for turn signals
I've got the smoked lenses w/visor trim rings (see gallery for pics) and they install the same as mentioned above - just push/snap - 5 seconds each. Although I have to admit the trim rings seem to be made out of cheap plastic, but so far they've held up. Wouldn't want to keep taking them on and off a lot though.
Have to disagree about longevity of double-sided tape - used the heavy duty automotive 3M stuff a lot on my bike and hot rods and it holds up thru rain, sun, snow, car washes, rutted dirt roads, pot holed secondary roads .. well, you know, New England stuff!
