Default Smart siren II no workie

Just before I had to leave for work, I installed a smart siren II on my 07 WG, tripped the alarm, but the siren did not go off, do these have to be programed or something?, what am I missing here? Thanks

if i read it right, you installed the siren, and it immediately wouldn't go off when tripped? if this is the case, you have to drive/run the bike for a while to charge the internal battery inside the siren. If your security system is working normal (lights flash when armed/tripped), then the siren is just a plug and play. Likely the internal battery just needs charged.

according to the HD instructions, the battery is a NiMH 9 volt battery. The instructions on the siren indicate you have to run the bike for awhile to charge the siren's battery, and also indicated that if the bike's charging system is producing less than 12.5 volts, the siren battery may not charge.

Ride the bike around for awhile to charge it up. If for some reason the battery is bad, the HD kit (battery, cover, etc.) is part # 69018-00.

first, thank you for your replies, this morning went out and fired up the bike for about 30 seconds, turned it off alarm chirped???? it's working now, programed the pager, no problem. Ran the bike around for awhile, life is good, showed the wife the instructions where I will have to ride for at least 4 hours on my day off on Tues. (oh darn) hehehehehehe. to charge the battery. life IS good.
