Default Air cleaner covers and screamin' eagle

Question? If you put a screamin' eagle hi-flow air filter kit with the back plate and breather plus other associated parts on the 2006 Dyna TC 88, do you still use the football type air filter cover or do you have to get a different air filter cover?

SE air cleaner kit.

Stock type cover.

I kept the football. Just had it black wrinkle powder coated. It seems to get plenty of air. In fact I bought a Kuryakyn Hyper charger, but decided to not use it. The football makes it look that much more stealthy, IMO(except when you look close and see the Screaming Eagle script on the trim ring.)

The stock football works fine. You just have to level it by eye since there's only one fastener holding it in place with the stock plastic back plate gone.

You could keep the football cover or you could do this for $39.95

Hey all. Many thanks for the replies and the excellent ideas. I'll know what to do when everything comes in.

Piginablanket. I like your cover a lot but I don't think I will put a 96ci on an 88ci motor.

Why not? The ricers do it to their cars all the time. [8D]
Actually the one I have is the plain smooth cover, I just took the trim off the stock football cover and restuck it onto the new cover.

Hey!! I'm not a ricer!!
Yeah. I looked up the covers in HD MC Accessories and will pick one that I like. I kinda like the Twin Cam 88 trim ring, though. Maybe I'll swap it to a smoothie also.
Thanks again.

Here is the one I put together for mine for about $40.00 total. PEP Boys and my own backing plate fabrication.
