Default 07 Dyna Street Bob

What can I do to get my 96 CID engine to produce closer to the 95 HP mark without a ton of money? I already installed stage 1 and I am around 75hp. Will upgrading to different camswithout head mods or big bore kitdo it for me?

Thanks

i'm no wrencher, but i have been told by many of them that the heads are very restrictive on the 96s. he told me that headwork and cams make that the 96 come alive.

Are we talking about opening upthe intake and the exhaust portsor are we talking a major job of intstalling larger valves. I am trying to keep it in a reasonable price range. Like under the $1000. mark if at all possible. I have ported and pollished automotive heads in the past and could probably do them myself but really didn't want to go into heads and cylinders so soon for more power. I only have 6800 miles on it. The night rider performance site mentioned that the 96 cubic inch displacement difference from the previous years comes from a longer stroke and that power could be obtained by uppin it to a 103 CID by installing a big bore kit. I am assuming they are talking about a 95Cylinder upgrade or am I wrong???

Nice bike mud.
Looks like you got a set of wrapped Rineharts there. thats kinds unique looking. How does it sound? I am beginning to think there is no easy way or cheap way to improve power. I tend to do my own customization when I can as well as my own engine mods to save the money being a wrencher all my life. I just wanted to start out slow and try to get the power up to 95 if possible on a small budget. Then again we are talking about a Harley. LOL!

Thanks for the compliment joe.
You're right on the pipes.
I like the sound - loud and distinctive.

I wrench my machine as well -
not only the money,
I know what I got and who to blame.

Started out on this one slow,
pipes and a/c - nice little gain.
Then added the SERT- significant improvement.

Recently went with 95" pots, 11:1 pistons, headwork,
radical cams - all HeadQuarters components.
And the RineHarts.
A real monster now.

Some more pictures of the RineHarts here:

You needan oversized muffler bearing kit and the .005 over wobbling shaft/wibbling pin clearance kit...got 110 HP and 105 torque after installing these....kits are hard to find but I can supply them...let me know if you want them.....99 cents plus $10 s&h...?
