If you're into doing some headwork, then you might as well swirl your intake, and polish your exhaust, maybe even throw down for a lap job somewhere in there. (Go for that Naturally Aspirated Forced Induction theory.)
If you want to see big performace difference, and spend all your time/money in one shop, then your best bet would be some head work. Expensive yes, but going fast ain't cheap.

You needan oversized muffler bearing kit and the .005 over wobbling shaft/wibbling pin clearance kit...got 110 HP and 105 torque after installing these....kits are hard to find but I can supply them...let me know if you want them.....99 cents plus $10 s&h...?

Joe, I can shed a little info for you as I am considering a similiar quest for more power and torque, talked to local dealer (they are having a sale on performance upgrades)and they want $984 +tax for 103" upgrade, and $3468.00+ taxfor Hi po upgrade that includes, 103",heads, throttle body, cams, cam backing plate, upgraded clutch, pushrods, and sert. Since I already have a thundermax w/ at I'd save a little, still figure 3K, but this will put you conservatively at 100+ hp and 110+ torque. (gear driven cams, more accurate, were an additional 1K) You upgrade crank bearing, more$$. You can easily spend 3-6K. There is a lot of potential in the 96" but it costs a lot ofmoney to get it. Peace.
