Thank you all for helping me with my decision as to which slip on's to get. I absolutely LOVE these pipes. I wish they were a bit louder, but for slip ons, I don't think you can beat them. Love them! Just wanted to share with you all, and for those trying to make the decision to get them or not.

take out the baffles and listen to them.....plenty loud.....welcome to the club...

 

I just picked up a set for my bike. I bought the quiet baffles for them. My father in law is not doing well and I did not get a chance to install them this weekend. I hope to get them in one night this week.

It is interesting how we all have different tastes. Adrian wishes they were a little louder and I bought the quiet baffles hoping that they will tone the pipes down enough.

straightshots here. with baffles. Read where a guy drilled holes in the bottom of his heat shield to get at the baffle removal blots. Good idea if need be.

 

hey guys, I have a few questions that maybe you could help me out on. I have the screaming eagle slip-ons, not much louder than stock, I dont really like them. Are the straitshots much louder, and do you have to remap or anything like that? Thanks

 

The straightshots are much louder than than SE slipons and a bit louder than the SEII's (which they no longer make). You don't have to remap if you keep the intake stock.

 

Ditto most all of the above - except making them quieter.

 

Extremely happy with my newset of V&H slip ons,i must find out whether they have baffles, they dosound raspier than my last pair(damaged in an accident) that definatelyhad baffles.

 

What do you mean find out if they have baffles? They come with baffles - not much to them but there are baffles in them rightout of the box - and then there are "quiet baffles" that can be purchased for them for about $30 each.

I don't know where these slip-ons were hiding when I first went looking - but, until now, they were apparently a well kept secret. Great looks and sound as far as I'm concerned.

 

I got my V&H slipons for my 07 LR a few months ago. Got a K&N a/c and the fuelpak. Put everything together (easy). Love the sound. I have wondered what the 'quiet' baffles sound like, but I ain't gonna spend the x-tra cash to put them in. They sound just great the way they came. Open the throttle, people will know a 'train' is coming !!!! Neighbors don't say anything. They all have barking dogs..I have a barking 'HOG".
