personally i have always liked the looks of the softtails but prefered the ride of the dyna. If you plan on doing hot rodding to the engine you will appreciate the rubber mount engine. I also prefer the ride of a swingarm.

Softails aren't rigid framed. If they were they would be "hardtails".

The Wide Glide is more of a chopper style which is fine if that is what you want. I don't.I ride a Low Rider and have taken several extended road trips. It's been great although I have made numerous "dial in" changes. My Softail choice would be a Deluxe, but I think it would be more difficult to change from a commuter to an instant tourer which is important to me. I road tested a 07' Low Rider and ST Deluxe and in pure stock form I would write the check for the ST. It is an interesting discussion and it comes down to what you would be happiest with at this point in your life and what is most suited for your needs and desires.

you also need to look at what you may want to do later on such as modifying and such there are thousands of parts out there for the softtails and only a select few for the Dyna family the red head step child of HD but i like the ride and handling better on the wide glide.

I agree on that one. It is a pain to find half as many parts for the WG as the softees. If you want a harley to have a harley go with the Softee. If you want a harley that has a little personality and a little vibration then go with the WG. personally I love my WG because of its raked look and great rider position. ( plus the wife loves the unbalanced rubbermount engine, can't figure out why............) Ride em both and pick what suits you...
