10K!!! 1st what is your secret??I think most of us would be happy to get 8K out of an 06 or later Dyna rear.

The one oversized rear tire specifically made for your rim (4.5") is a Harley Dunlop GT502, HDp/n 43197-04A. It's a 180.

Hope that helps ya

Me and many of my riding buddies have switched to Metzler. For most all kinds of bikes. Better handling and in some cases, better mileage. I usually try to get tires from a small bike dealer or if I find a good deal, online.

Metzeler direct replacement for the Harley Dunlop160/70B17 is 160/70B17M/C REINFTL 79V ME880 , and you could probably use the Metzeler 170/60R17M/CTL 72V ME880 on your 4.5" rim.

Note: the Metz 160 will actually be narrower than your current Dunlop. The Metz 170 will be about the same as your 160.

The Dunlop GT502180/60B17will fill out your rearfender.

My own experience with the Metz was good, and a little better handling, but do more wear, and actually a little less.

There are other options, but make sure you are getting rear tire that fits to your rim width, and works well with your front tire.

Radials are another option you may look into.

Good Luck

Good Highway riding probably has a lot to do with it.
I ride on mountain backroads with lots of twisities, a lot which is tar and chip.
All good roads, but not the same as smooth highways. Thanks
