Default Rinehart’s Color Changes

Black to Copper and Back to Black.
http://www.putfile.com/twofishrichard/images/95689

The end cap when new was black.
At 8200 miles it’s now a copper color.

Rinehart sent me a replacement N/C
that according to them will remain black.

Thanks Rinehart for standing behind your product.

New endcap looks good. I am thinking about getting the staggered Rineharts and was wondering what you thought about your pipes. Would you buy them again?

How was customer service? Quality of the pipes. etc

Just curious, only have a couple thousand miles on my bike, most with my Rineharts.
How long did it take them to change color? So far mine are fine and still black.

I have the same discoloration problem on the lower pipe of my staggered duals. I guess I'll have to give Rinehart a call and see what they can do. My real concern is that I got a bit aggressive with my cornering and have ground down the set screw that holds the endcap in. Probably going to have to get a tap set to pull the bad end cap off.

The guys at BUB / Rinehart definitely stand behind their products. I had a problem ,with what I can chalk up to metal fatigue, at the point where my front slip on
connects to my front header pipe. My dealer and I got in touch with Rinehart. We emailed them a couple of photos. They said they would replace the muffler, granted it was out of warranty by about 6 months. I figured that they would send me a new muffler and that I would change out the end cap so it would match my
purple one at the back. Hell No. They sent me a brand new set at zero cost to me. The new end caps do look blacker than the original ones. I will be reinstalling
them today.

I like the looks and sound of the Rinehart’s staggered much better.
The HD service department and articles I have read convinced
me to do the 2 into1 for performance reasons. Lots of torque in all gears.
No problems with Rinehart’s service at all. Yep, I would buy them again.
Great quality product so far less the end cap color.

As I recall the color change started maybe around 2500 miles or so.
I was told my new end cap should remain black.
They must have done something different in the manufacturing?

For some reason only the lower cap has changed on mine. I've thought about switching the two out so they match. Actually truth be told I parked next to a guy with a Black Cherry Pearl Road King with Rineharts a few weeks back. The discolored tip was almost a perfect match to his bike, I joked that I'd call the guy when I had a matching set for him and we'd trade.

Heat evidently changes the end cap colors.
The rear cylinder gets hotter than the front so
the lower one on the 2 into 2 exhausts will change first.
I wonder if they make chrome replacement end caps.

twofish. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. If you don't mind teaching me, why are the staggered not as good as a fit.

My plans were to change the intake (possibly Ness Big Sucker) and put the rinehart staggered pipes on my 08 superglide. Am I going to have issues down the road?
