Default Slip ons Questions

I currently have the SE II slip ons on my 06' Superglide.I want to go to another low price, but a bit louder slip on. any input?

next question is ifI do end up changing my slip ons, do I have to remap the ECM? going from one slip on to another.

just bend out the baffel lip... if you look into the pipe you will see a lip or cup in there... just bend that down and out of the way and you are golden! this will get them signif louder... here is a crappy diagram the dark part represents the opening for the exhaust to come though and the view is looking into the pipe from the back... *be sure if you are bending these out to not put any strain on the rest of the pipe (headers or mounting brakets)

I have a pair of stock (unmodified)SEIIs that doesn't have much of a baffle at all, and when stepped on is about as loud as my brother's Short Shots with caps. So I have to ask ...

How friggin' loud do you want to be?

Don't you need a little bit of that back-pressure for the TC engines?

You can search for me recent posts. I just changed from SE II's to V&H's Straightshot slipons. Did not have to do a remap. Sounds much better.

Stell .. here's my two-cents... originally asked dealer to install SE's on new bike (07'LowRider), along with Stage I/K&N... he came back and stated, nobody with a new ride to date delievered with the SE's were happy with the sound, and simply bending down the lip took away low end performance... his answer was to install RUSH slip-ons with 2" baffles, air kit, and simple remap HD stock computer... even talked me outta the Power Commander... after 1K..had O2 sensors trickedout by installingresistors in stock loop and the bike runs and sounds like a Raped Ape ! I'm lovin' the entire setup... R/ Ed H, VaBch, Va
