Slip ons Questions

RE: Slip ons Questions
Sir Ed, of course he talked you out of a power commander. That's easy money for them every time you need a new map.
One of my buddies has the Rush slipons with a SE Stage I A/C and it does sound great without modifying the baffles in any way. He didn't get a remap and, so far, his is running great as well.
And, I agree on the SE's, I've yet to talk to anyone that bought the 07's and was happy with them. Another friend bought a set of 07 SE's and 3 weeks later he replaced them with Rush. However, the SE II's do sound better but they stopped making them before 07. Several have said they bent the flap down and got better sound with no noticeable performance difference. But, for a long term solution, I'd go with some BCT baffles instead of modifying the existing ones. Or, do like I did and get some slipons that sound better to begin with. I am sold on Rush as far asthe sound goes. But, when I saw the look of the V&H's I got and that I got them for half price, I had to go that route. I'd compare the sound I get with what I've heard from Rush.

RE: Slip ons Questions
I went for the V&H Straight Shot Slip ons on my 06 Low Rider. They sound great...loud and deep and a hell of alot more throttle response. It is running lean and I might try the Revtech DFO to fine tune the fuel mixture instead of a re-map. It ran lean with stock exhaust so I'm not 100% on which way to go. I don't feel like spending an arm and a leg either.

How do you know yours is running lean? Have you had it checked? Is it popping on you? Just curious because I was warned they might do that but mine seems fine. No popping at all - just nice and smooth.

so I was checking out the Slip ons, and checked all of my paperwork. apparently the slipons are only SE and not the SE II. so the new question would be, if I go from the standard SE to a rush or cycle shack, will I have to remap?
