Changed from Sportster to Street Bob

RE: Changed from Sportster to Street Bob
I went from an '05 883C to a '06 Street Bob. I never hadthat feeling of being one with the bike on the 883C like I do with the Street Bob. I'm not sure how much of that is due to the fact that I was a new rider when I had the 883C, but I do know that when the Street Bob leans a little to one side or the other, it doesn't get away from me and decide to take a naplike the 883C used to (3 times []).

RE: Changed from Sportster to Street Bob
I had an 05 Sporty 883 converted to a 1250 and loved that bike. It started using oil like crazy after the conversion. I saw on XL Forums some others were having the same problem with no solution (and still none to this day) soI traded it in for my 07 Street Bob. I love the hell out of this bike.
I don't see what the big deal is though if someone mistakes it for a Sporty. Big deal. Nothing wrong with a Sporty at all.

RE: Changed from Sportster to Street Bob
Same story here, switched from an '05 883C to an '07 Street Bob. The center of gravity feels lower with the Dyna for sure. I was going to go the same route as piginablanket, but hated the idea of burning oil. I like my newbike a lot, no regrets.
I do wich I could have kept the Sporty, or at least bought a Nightster, my younger bro has one and it is a fun bike. Light, fast, and primal.

You'll love the dyna. I went from an '04 883 to an '08 FXDC and I love it! It doesn't seem quite as agile as my old sporty, but there are so many advantages to this newer bike that makes it a no-brainer.
You will not regret it! You'll especially love the 6th gear that everyone on a sporty seems to want so much. Cruising around at 70mph now is a bit more comfortable bc the engine isn't rapped out.
