Sir Ed, I had the Power Commander and K&N Air Cleaner installed along with the V&H Big Radius. The dealer didn't have a Dyno, so I waited about a week to put some miles on her and brought her to an Ironhorse dealer who had a Dyno. They dialed her in sweet and recorded the HP to be at 78 1/2. I can't recall off hand what the torque was, but I can say, the bike runs about 10x's better since I had it Dyno'd.

Check your plugs.

If they're wet, you're too rich.

If not, you're too lean.

Ed - My understanding is they can't get into all the parameters in the bike's computer when dyno tuning unless you have a SERT or Power Commander type of device. Might want to check with your dyno guy first to see what he's familiar with and recommends - been tons of threads here on the forum about +/- of each type of device along with other similar options.

Chip, apprecite the get-back and will do another cleaning of the K&N, at the 10K service think I will have them put it on the dyno for a twinkin'. Think possibly a Power Commander set-up might help too ? R/ Ed H

I don't know about the Dr Dyno O2 sensors but with the kind of set up you have you will most likely need something that can fine tune your fuel injection a little more especially at the bottom end where your popping problem is.When I started out I got a Thunderheader, a Screaming Eagle Air cleaner and a Revtech DFO.The DFO didn't have the tunability at the low end of the RPM range to get rid of the decel popping and backfiring and I was miserable until I got a SERT and had it tuned on a Dyno.I learned two things here #1 don't go cheap on your tuner it's too important and #2 Don't waste a bunch of your riding time on your bike when it's running crappy it'll just **** you off get it fixed .

Jake .. again appreciate the info... thinkin' adding the Power Comander for added tuning range and the dyno should get her where I want her to be... not looking forward outrageous horse-power or torque, just a clean, efficient running machine...Again Thanks, Ed

You're welcome Ed. I re-checked my paperwork today and she's pushing 77.56 HP and 92.02 Torque, and she runs awesome.

your scoot could also be sucking air around the exhaust ports the header might be loose give them a little snug popping and backfiring might just go away . that is what the problem was on mine check this before you spend alot of money

Hey... Those are repectable numbers for the work performed, I'm told the 96's are averaging 64-65 hp out of the box. Our mechanictells us any mods past 80 mean less mileage on engine before rebuildand more reliability issues with all engine/tranny parts...again just want an efficient reliable scoot that sounds good... whenI was twentyit was how fast I could get there, at fiftyI'm happy just gettin' there looking good...LOLOnce again thanks for the inputs..
