Thanks

Hole 3 on the ECM plug sounds great.

Thanks again.

PS Have had your wife or girl friend on the back of your 2006 dyna. My wife hates the ride. I rode back there and its got alot od viberation. As a driver you don't seem to feel it but it sure is bad for the passenger.

Whats your thoughts?

The March 06 issue of V-Twin Magazine has a detailed article on installing a Harley Tach Kit. Its a good article that has detailed step-by-step photos. The kit comes with the tach and twin mounting bracket. It states that the Harley part # is (P/N, 67224-04).

John

PS Also,... The article states the the Harley Tach kit is all inclusive, and states there is nothing to cut, strip or solder, basically just a few screws and you just plug in the new wire harness.

When I installed the tach on my Sportster, there were only THREE wires that mattered:

1-Power (took it off the ignition according to the wiring diagram in the factory service manual)
2-Ground (any suitable ground - again, refer to the service manual wiring diagram)
3-Tach/Coil (the wiring diagram showed exactly which lead on the coil to attach it to)

If you guys are trying to do wiring on your bikes without the FACTORY WIRING DIAGRAM, good luck...

I agree with your 'Less is More' concept on the Bobbers, but I really would like to have a tach on mine. I ride with no helmet or windshield and sometimes a tach is essential when I can't HEAR the engine revs. Especially when I'm getting on the freeway and paying more attention to the cages trying to run me over than to counting the gear-shifts. Had one on the Sporty before this and loved it...
