Check Engine and Battery Light

Check Engine and Battery Light
I need some help. My check engine and battery light are on. I left my 06 superglide outside during a rain storm. I went to ride and it was missing and popping real bad. I first thought maybe water in the gas so I added some heet. It cleared up the missing but after it runs for a minute or two these lights come on. Anyone got an answer for me.
Thanks,
Brad

I would check the connections at the voltage regulator, maybe a little corrosion there.

I pulled the codes and got P0562-Low bat volts.
I reset the codes, charged the battery, and restarted it.
It ran fine at idle for about 5 min. but after giving it some throttle while riding the light returned.

You either have a bad cell in the battery or the generator/alternator ain't.
Check your battery voltage with the bike running (should be around 14 VDC).
Charge the battery and see if it holds the charge or not (Should be at least 12 VDC or better).
Check the voltage regulator connections, may save you a ton of $$$.
Hope this helps

hey bobad24, this might be too late, but don't unplug your voltage regulator/rectifier while the bike is running, bad things with your electrics could happen. If you have the batt. tender plug on your bike you can do the voltage test thru it. Like they said voltage should be 14.0-14.2 volts. The code may be stored and needs to be cleared or you can wait for, I believe, 50 start cycles. If you are under warranty why not use your dealer?

Thanks for the help. I checked all conections, checked battery voltage, and checked charging voltage. It didn't look like it was charging. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the stator. All is well now.
