RE: Quiet Baffles for V&H
I have the "quiet" baffles in my V&H slipons, I think whoever called them quiet must be deaf. The quiet baffles are as loud as I expect the standard baffles to be. Also I think whoever called the standard ones baffles must be blind and deaf, I don't see how they could affect the sound or back pressure at all.

I purchased the V&H Quite Baffles, but the fiberglass is wrapped in tape. Did you remove the tape before installing, or does the tape simply melt away?
I assume it's easier to install with the tape in place, but wouldn't it melt and start smoking? I would hate to park the bike somewhere and see smoke coming out.

I have them and love them. Put em in and rode to Vegas and back, broke them in real good. No smoke just a funny smell for the first 100 miles. They also helped with the low end grunt. Once the packing burns off they will be as loud or louder than the std. baffles.
