Default Baffles on stock pipes.. ??

So, I was told by the guy at the dealership where I bought ny bike from that I could actually remove the baffles from the stock pipes and be ok. Is this true?

I know on the bike I had (07' vulcan 900 custom) I was able to remove the baffles from the stock pipes and the bike would run just fine without any proplems, but is it the same with this?

I can't really afford the pipes I want right now, and can't stand the quietness of my stock pipes, so are there any other options??

Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Adrian

Get a Cycle Shack slip on and run for while until you get what you want to [ they are cheap , about 150 dollars ]

You can do it but it isn't real easy. You will need a hole saw, dremel, and patience.

Don't just knock a big hole in the blocking baffle. You just make small, quiet, straight pipes and kill low end.

I've got a post about it in exhaust forum.

I did it to mine. It wasn't that hard. Just cut through the welds with a hole saw, and then knock them out with a long rod and a hammer.

Here's a thread I made about awhile back:

I did this to mine just the other day. They sound much better and cheaper the buying new pipes although I do plan on getting some V&H big radius next year.
