Default Pics from my home made Nightster/chopped fender project

For the last couple weeks I've been working on cutting down my rear fender and configuring my tail light set up to look and work somewhat like a Nightster. Here is a series of pics in case anyone is interested.

First ,marking the cut I decided to go just above the license bracket to avoid the extra three holes and the extra 1/16" thick backing plate http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...hoppics002.jpg

Here I am making the cut with a Dremmel http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...hoppics003.jpg
it took 4 cut off wheels and a 5th one to clean it up.I also used a couple of grinding wheels on a high speed drill and an orbital sander.

The finished fender after experimenting with 3 different brands of spray paint I finally found something damn near perfect called Krylon semi flat black

In the near future I plan on painting the fork sliders black, relocating the front turn signals, getting 11" shocks and figuring out some way to carry stuff on the back fender without tearing it up but first I need tires real bad.A 180 for the rear and a 120 on the front ought to be just about right.

I've been wondering how your Krylon experiments would turn out. Great looking bike. I really like the rear fender and tail lights. Nice work

Looks cool Ed, I can't wait to see it with the lower shocks and a fat azz tire. Keep up the good work
