Default Hard to push in gear....

Ok, I just did my 1k service myself. I did the clutch adjustment like it said to in the manual. But ive noticed that the bike is real hard to push while its in gear with the clutch lever pulled in, and it also jumps when i drop it into 1st from neutral. Is this normal? Or did i get it too tight?

Hows it shift into 1rst after you had ran it around the block from neutral? Might be just the plates sticking when its cold.I know mine isthought bout trying some differnt primary fluid instead of the formula+ stuff. And I have adjusted it several times doesnt get any better.

It felt good after the test drive, then it sat outside for a couple of hours (easier to see any leaks on the driveway) it is a little chili out there. Ill pay more attention tomorrow when i ride. Maybe it was just the cold.

Pretty normal in my experience - thought it funny at first, but have heard many others comment on it - seems to be just one of those quirky things on a harley (at least the newer ones).

Mines the same way. I recently adjusted the clutch and it is still the same.

My '72 Bonneville did the same thing.
