Thanks for the advise Bob. I am an everyday rider so I am sick without the bike. Just trying to figure out the fastest way to get back in the saddle. Leg should be good enough in a couple months. Everything else is facial and mouth injuries, no head injuries other than that. Just hard to let it go with all the hard work I have put into it.

My dad (he was behind me in his van)started the bike up and drove it off the road. He said it fired right up it. And my State Trooper buddy drove it on the trailer, he said it stared right up for him too.

Man, after looking at the pics, it looks like you took it worse than your scooter. Seriously, I though your bike would look a lot worse than it does. I may have to re-think my previous post. I mean , bars, trees and even forks may just get you back on the road, and still some extra scratch in your pocket. If not, I like the appraisal/ negotiatingidea mentioned earlier.

since you still have the note, take the money and pay it off. you are lucky enough to get a "do over", i wouldnt press my luck. if you take all the parts than you can salvage and put it in a new frame, you might be able to pull it off for under 9K, but that is a big IF. then you have to get it all re-titled and insured, and you still have the monthly payment to deal with. i would scrap it, pay it off and move on to the next bike.

The only thing wrong with the frame is the steering stop. Do I really need a new frame?

Any posibility that the frame could be tweaked/crooked? Just have to make sure, real sure, there are no cracks or stress fractures.

Pay it off...and buy a slightly used bike, and save money on depreciation. The market is currently FULL of low mileage H/D's.

Why take the chance????
