Ed if you are looking to get rid of your air shocks I have a buddy that wnats a set
Not looking to get rid of them just yet.I've been thinking alot lately of actually bobbing my rear fender. Once I do that the extra hieght will really not look so good but if and when I go through with it I can either put my stock bob Shocks back on or use a Tamerack kit on my air shocks.Tell your buddy to do a search on Ebay for Harley shocks there were quite a few on there when I got mine for $80 shipped. In retrospect I wish I would have got the shorter "Profile" shocks.

I think the Street Bob shocks are about an inch shorter than regular Superglide shocks.I have regular Electraglide shocks on mine which should be about the same length as the Superglide shocks give or take a half inch anybody know for sure?
StreetBob shocks are 12", Super Glide12 5/8", Electra Glide 13"

I put them on my superglide custom today, and removed them asp. did'nt like the flex in the spring, and to me they
looked like the guard would trash the caliper. so think i'll just get the 11.5 418 S. mind you they did look fantastic.
like your bike which is even lower. but i was a little nervous of riding it .

Very sharp - I like it! What exactly is in the kit?
It comes with the two lowering blocks and all the bolts you will need. It's about a 15 or 20 minute install.
I assume you used a lift to install the kit? Just asking becasue a friend of mine stated it could be one with out a lift.

So....I have an '08 StreetBob and am looking to lower it how do I exactly go about that?? Shorter shock or a "kit" that you are talking about? What is in the "kit"? Also, I sometimes ride 2 up so that is a consideration for clearance. I would defiantely like to get that look of lower in the rear. I already have the 3" tank lift so I can only imagine the change in appearance.

if you do a lot of two up riding i would go with the shorter shocks. the kit that lowers the stock shocks has been known to break the mount on the rear arm do to with stress of weight and the way it offsets the shock.

Like TxDyna, I'm new to this as well. Just bought a new 2008 Street Bob and now the fun begins as far as the mods and whatnot. I do like the look of the slammed rear end on the Tamarack kit, but even their website warns against riding two up. They even seem a bit concerned with solo riders weighing over 180! What have you guys noticed? Can you do this and still ride two up?

I would recomend air shocks... slams the rear just as low and gives you the opertunity to roll with a passanger, plus it is an awesome ride!
