Default high pitch noise!!!

I own a 07 lowrider with 5500 miles on it.Lately I have been getting a high pitched whine or whistle coming from the tank or engine, I can't seem to pinpoit it. I was wondering if it may be the fuel pump? Anyone having this annoying problem.

I have heard the same noise on numerous fuel injected bikes, mostly one with windshields on. I read on here somewhere that someone had isolated it to the injectors firing.

I can hear it on my bike some times, it almost sounds like the fuel pump running. When I start my bike it allways sounds diffrent????? My fuel pump never sounds the same.

Are you sure it's not your front brake pads making a slight contact with the disc? Lay a finger on the front brake lever when you hear it and you'll know. My bike does it too.

Definitely the fuel pump. Perhaps the sound varies a bit depending on how full the tank is? I'm not sure about that, but mine definitely varies as well.

Hey jp13

My 07 Superglide also makes this sound, mine is more like a whistling sound, I'm pretty sure it's the fuel injection and nothing to worry about.

It's the Harley dealer whistling for you to spend more money on bling because sales are down.

I hear the same noise from my Ford Escape if the windows are up, form time to time. If I put the windows down the noise goes away.
Try putting the windows up, and see if it quiets down.............. You could shut the bike off at high speed and see if the the noise disappears (hold the clutch in).

If it's only when you're moving, it's the turn signal...wind blows past it just right sometimes, to cause a whistle.
