Default RE: Wax Polish or Nothing?

Nothing touches mine until S-100 is sprayed all over it. I immediately rinse it off and it removes everything but the nastiest bug splats. I'll then lightly scrub the bug splats off (forks, lights, etc.). I then straddle the bike and ease it to once side then the other to let any water pools drain out. After I dry it with a VERY CLEAN "shammy", I go over the paint with Meguiar's quick detail spray and gently rub that in and the excess off with a VERY CLEAN micro fiber cloth. Then the chrome gets Windexed. When it's time for waxing/polishing I use Harley Glaze instead of the Meguiars.

Meguiar's makes some good products. If I need to wash the bike thoroughly, I use S-100 and you must rinse bike very well, or deal with spotting. I have had great luck with the Boston SoapWorks products, now being sold under Perewitz's name.Their stuff is some of the best I have ever tried and I've tried a ton of them.

I always polish the bike after washing and waxing first. The polish works to seal things up and makes "touch ups" easier between washes. Chrome gets cleaned and sealed with chrome polish, not wax. Done this way, I am always amazed how much deeper the shine is on the tins. For the record, I don't work for BSW or get paid anything for saying what I've posted above.

I have found the less you handle black paint the less fine scratches and swirl marks you get. I use S100 cleaner spray bike down and rinse off touch up bug marks with a lambs wool mitten. Dry bike off with electric leaf blower and finish with S100 spray detailer and wipe off with microfiber towels.

S-100 wax and total cycle cleaner are what I use. I also like Pig Spit on the black engine. No wax goes on my tins though with the denim paint which is a big plus to me.
