1994 Vibration at 2100rpm
To All,
One of the motorcycles I own is a 1994 Dyna FXDS-Conv. After a recent run from Milford KY to Huntsville Al it developed a distinct vibration around the 2500rpm range. Found out my rear motor mount was disintegrating and so I replaced both front and rear mounts. The vibration is still there but now around the 2100rpm range. Any rev's past that point and the vibration smoothes out or if I pull in the clutch the vibration goes away.. I can feel the vibration in the foot pegs down by the motor. Sounds like something in the engine but the engine runs strong and in no way seems to be deteriorating. I have been told by one certified HD Mechanic that is is normal on Dynas to have a vibration of this sort and by another that the flywheel may have slipped a bit. Has anyone experienced this type of vibration before? The vibration was not there until after my trip from KY.

RE: 1994 Vibration at 2100rpm
I recently picked up a 2006 Street Bob with the belt drive and it's been awhile since I've been on a Harley I've been riding Hi powered Jap Cruisers and I got on the Hiway for the first time with it and I thought my legs would never stop vibrating.I thought to myself what a piece of ****.But further down the line I found that with the 6 speed tranny I couldnt run under 65-70 in 6th gear or I'd get this violent vibration like the engine and drive train winding up and unwinding.Has anyone else run across this lugging vibration??
Thanks DynaG
