Default Service Question

When changing the transmission fluid shouldn't the bike be level???????????????? the service manual says to rest on jiffy stand (if thats the case all the old fluid won't drain out) Just wondered how you guys do it.

Thanks for all the help

Default RE: Service Question

well i use just a 2x4 under the kickstand to get the bike kinda level but still leaning. and really the way the plugs are on my 05 dyna its almost better on the kickstand cuz the drain plugs on the primary and motor are on that side its leaning towards. it the trans plug thats off to the right and would need to be more level to get it all out. i may have the two plugs swtiched around but if you've changed your oil you know what im saying. but i dont think being level to drain is as crucial as being level when refilling and dip stick checks.

Default RE: Service Question

The owners manual and service manual states todrain the fluid, as well ascheck the fluid levels, with the bike on the jiffy stand. That's how I did mine. I then installed one quart of fluid and all checked okay. Hope this helps!
