Default 8 degree injectors (I know, AGAIN)

With 11,000 miles, I've only now started to experience the 8 degree injector issue. Ihad earlier assumed that since I didn't have the symptoms at the time of the service bulletin (Feb 06) that I would not be affected. I have a service appointment to "check it out". Has anyone else had no problem until they put some miles on like I did? Up until this month it ran great, now, without any other changes, I'm getting the cold starting and surging problems.

The symptoms started at about 500 miles on mine. Very minor in warm temps, but moreso in cold weather.

Had problems with my '06 SG shortly after I got it. They replaced the 8-degree injectors with 25-degree, under warranty. In fact there was a service bulletin for that. You should check into having it done.

I had the symptoms, but the TFI I installed cured all the probs. I know everyone loves the SERT, and I agree you have a ton more "tunability" with it. But a simple stage one upgrade...the TFI is beautiful so far. (knock on wood)

Still got my 8 degree injectors. I had an intermittant misfire that got worse until it threw up a code as 'Rear injector open / low'.

Got the meter on it and found that the power feed wire to the injector had broken (inside the insulation) and the signal wire had 2 or 3 strands left. (There is not enough of a service loop out of the harness to allowengine movement.) Pieced them out and everything running well again.

Not sure if it makes a difference but we have 95 to 97 octanefuel in the UK.

M-1185 Fuel Injector/Calibration Changes For 2006 1450cc Big Twins
February 20, 2006
Purpose
It has recently been determined that the 8° angle cone spray fuel injectors used on 2006 1450cc Big Twins may cause cold start and/or driveability problems on some motorcycles.
In the interest of promoting customer satisfaction, the 25° angle cone spray fuel injectors used on CVO 103 cu. in. (1690cc) motors will be installed on all production Big Twins beginning on or around February 13, 2006.
Additionally, Harley-Davidson will provide for the installation of 25° angle cone spray fuel injectors on those motorcycles where use of the 8° fuel injectors (part number 27625-06) is determined to be directly responsible for cold start and/or driveability problems.
NOTE
Due to changes in the manufacturing process, the part number of the 25° angle cone spray fuel injector is changing from 27709-06 to 27709-06A. This fuel injector also will be stamped with the words “25 DEG” for easy identification.
