just get some shrink wrap and shrink it around the clamps extension piece, that is what i did... no marks and looks good!

 

FYI,

You can purchase the pads for the clamps seperately. I did so at the local dealer here and it was not a problem. I do not remember the cost but it was reasonable as I recall.

I talked to the dealer yesterday and was told that the windshield was supposed to come with the rubber pads! I told him, "no", there were no pads with the windshield (the windshield was installed on the bike when I picked it up at the dealer and I assumed it was installed correctly). He told me he would immediately order them and provide them to me free of charge. I want to thank you guys for this post or I would never had known about the pads.
