Default Whats under the center console?

Yesterday I was driving to work when i was passed by a guy on a street bob. I checked out his bike and noticed that he had ripped his center console and speedo off and was sporting a clean tank. I Really liked how it looked and am considering it myself. However before I start tearing into things, I want to know what to expect when the console comes off. is the tank flat? is it split? any help is appreciated

EDIT: Forgot to specify that I have an 06 Bob

Default RE: Whats under the center console?

Ihad an '07 Street Bob FXDB and removed the center console to install the LED fuel gauge. It is one tank (not split) and had the fuel sending unit, wiring, etc... under there. It is not pretty.

The bike you saw had to have an aftermartket fuel tank.
