I usually make this same post about this time every year to recap the winter mods to the Dyna. Usually though they include pics of the bike all shined up and in the driveway after a shakedown ride, but this year the bike is still on the lift and pretty dirty while I wait for my foot to heal. I am walking now but in a boot.

It was a big winter for JABD (just another black Dyna ).

From front to rear:
  • Speedo and Tach Mickey Mouse setup. Guage housing and Tach courtesy of my brother @brownie4412 , couldn't have done it without you man!
  • Elite MotoTech reduced effort clutch perch and lever to match the...
  • ...Brembo RCS19 Master cylinder with TTI mirror clamp and KurveyGirl normally open brake switch
  • Dual Brembo GP4-RS calipers with Galfer lines
  • Green Brothers Design flush front axle Replacement Front Axle for 2008 to 2017 Dyna in Black (greenebrothersdesigns.com)
  • Bitubo +2 fork cartridges
  • SuperBrace
  • Front Sputhe Positrac with new OEM mount. all ARP fasteners
  • Removed the DK Tank Lift after 4 years (it's for sale cheap)
  • 6" Extended BungKing rear shock sliders
  • Rear Sputhe Positrac with new OEM mount. all ARP fasteners
  • Single Brembo GP4-RS rear caliper, ARP Fasteners and Galfer line
  • Green Brothers Design flush rear axle Replacement Rear Axle for 2008 to 2017 Dyna in Black (greenebrothersdesigns.com)
  • Converted to dyno oil in the primary at FuelMoto's suggestion
  • Oh, and did I mention ARP fasteners at all points where it was possible including removing a bunch from other locations and swapping them also.

No, the Bitubos do not have Heim joints. Not sure how I feel about that. Also amazing job on your bike!! That's a huge list to knock out and it looks awesome! 🍻

That's a plus and a minus for me since I had to custom shim my tranny bracket and the Legends for the Thunderheader to fit right. I still only have a hair of clearance between the lower shock bolt and the muffler can when the bike is sitting on the stand and it just makes contact at full sag, which really the bike will never see off the lift (I hope).

And thanks man, I've been working on it off and on since Nov just taking my time, I love wrenching almost as much as riding.

I had my thunderheader spaced out as well. I could never get it enough to use arps on the lower shock bolts without hitting. I thought I would miss the thunderheader more and maybe the hpi is just new and shiny but I'm happy with it. Definitely putting the thunderheader in the parts stash though. I was worried about decel pop going back to a short pipe as I had terrible pop with my old fab28 pipe. My bike has a better tune on it now though.

Since I can't seem to find a Nightstick slipon and since Hardcore Cycles had a sale on their Bassani stuff, I went ahead and ordered a RR2. Had good luck with the RR3 when I had my Low Rider S.

Small stuff, got the clutch cable loose at both ends to lube it properly with Dupont teflon spray, that made a BIG difference and it is much more pleasant to ride now plus didn't spend the $$$ on a new cable. Some previous owner had stripped the alloy hex head of the gearbox dipstick, replaced it with a steel head version from Colony. Rerouted and cleaned up some of the handlebar control wiring. Ordered a Wilwood front caliper, the pre '99 one is weak even with new HH pads.

Assembling the spring in the left fork was a bitch. It's a 2 person job, the spring tension is a LOT. 49 miles including a short 2-up ride, it's completely different.

I upgraded from the factory drag-style bars to a set of 14" apes. No wonder the dealer charges so much for that job. Took about 10 hours (minus some beer breaks) but I like the way it looks. Also like that I'm not leaning forward anymore.
