I ain’t a fan of the stock gearing. 6th gear only feels good doing 75+.
I'm not either. I actually started out at 24/55 and rode that for about a year. Now at 24/53 I'm doing 90mph at close to 4k rpm. That's been fine for the most part. I'm rarely over 100mph but sometimes you just have to send it and she's screaming for sure.
I'm 24/53 and wish I had done a 25 in the primary. In my opinion you're gonna be tacked out at freeway speeds. I guess it depends on how fast you cruise.
Without a doubt, that's a 12% increase in ratio.. Not even sure why you're going to chain. Belts are very strong today.. It's not necessary and it's just a lot of extra maintenance and cleaning...
I'm running belt still but have run chain in the past.. Currently using a 68 on the rear and 5th gear is similar to what the older FXR's were with a 3.42:1.. The nice thing is that 4th gear will get me through the traps at 114 mph without losing time to another shift.. According to my Dragy...
Your 4th gear will be topped out at 100 mph and your cruise in 6th at 70 will be 3000 rpm.. 80 will be 3450... Good luck..

Here's a pic of my current Shinko.. They only come with 6/32's tread and don't last long because of the soft compound.. Never really checked mileage but think it around 3k-3500 miles.. I only have 1/32 left..
Took a quick spin on my new-to-me 16 Low Rider. Bike only has 4000 miles but has been sitting for some time. Takes a few more cranks than it should during a cold start and then runs a little rough so I'm hoping it's just old gas and nothings clogged up. So I added some seafoam and hoping it's just something like a dirty injector before I start replacing stuff in the tank. Previous owner left some good scratches in the tank so tons of elbow grease and HD scratch remover works really well. Other than that, it's in great shape and runs surprisingly strong being 100% bone stock.

Bone stock finds are always the best and the 2014 - 2017 Low Riders are great bikes! This one is the perfect blank canvas.
Got the rockers all put back together and with the beautiful weather decided I wasn't wasting two weeks of 50s weather to paint a gas tank, since I'll be out of town this weekend, so I put it back together. Gonna run it badgeless for a little while and get a feel what I want to do with the tank while I wait a few weeks for a 60s weekend. Then just do the tank and replace the bags at the same time. Current bags the leather is tearing at the straps and would like hard bags that lock.
