Fxdx pulley bolts snapped
#21
I requested the plate because this happened to my friend 3 times but he has motor work done so I can see their being problems. This bike isn’t worked at all but I just wanted to be safe. They call them a sprocket lock or pulley lock system. Yes the bolt heads aren’t supposed to come loose with this part. Bike went from tow truck to Harley I don’t have any other pictures.
No thoughts on no evidence of a locking compound? Picture of end of bolt head.

No visible markings on head of bolts just all scratched up from swing arm. Other half of bolts still in no idea what they look like I just took the snapped bolts off so I could move bike it was locked up

Looking at those bolts in the pic causes me to wonder.
To me it appears the bolts may have been just a little long and bottomed out enough to seem tight.
Leaving just enough slack for pulley movement to quickly weaken the bolts and finally gave it up.
The first bolt on the left appears to be bent some. Least to my ol eyes

yes I’m seeing this problem all over the internet . Exactly why I joined this forum trying to get answers and enough knowledge between everyone and Harley to fix this because having that in the back of your mind riding isn’t fun
