Where did all the motorheads go?

RE: Where did all the motorheads go?
Talk to someone like Doug at HQ; there are other's, I just haven't dealt with anyone else...
This is what I got out of my 103; and have done a few thousand milesof touring this summer two up in temps up to100F and over passes up to near 7000' without a hitch; excellent gas mileage too (45usmpg). Matching all the components is one of the keys to all round performance. Metric cruisers are toast.....

RE: Where did all the motorheads go?
JokersChild, I had about the same impression as you did on the stage I results. I had the AC, download, and SE slip-ons installed and couldn't really tell a difference, except that it started popping on deceleration since it was leaned out even more than stock. My wife and I both have 07 Super Glides, hers is stock except for the SE slip-ons, so I could do ride comparisons. According to the dyno chart in the Harley catalogue, about the only thing the stage I does is give a little more hp and torque at higher rpm. I wasn't impressed. So I had the SE 103" Big Bore stage II (which adds the SE 255 cam) installed. Now I can tell the difference! I also have the Cobra Fi2000r O2 fuel processor on order to adjust the fuel/air ratio and bring engine temps down, which should help as well. Everthing together cost me around $1500. I'm sure there are better combinations out there, especially in exhausts, but since I am new to motorcycles and Harleys, I just went with the dealer's recommendations which also protected my warranty. I am very happy with my bike now, more power and the engine just runs better overall at all speeds.
BTW, my other bike is a stock Honda Magna cruiser, 750cc V-4. It will flat out leave a Harley in the dust with one rider onboard and with it reved properly. But it doesn't have that arm straightening torque either. It is a much better bike on fast twisty roads. So instead of selling it I decided to keep both bikes for different types of rides. I have about decided you can't have too many!
