Default 99 dyna wont stay running

Hey everyone im having troubles with my 99 dyna fxds convertible with the 88ci . A little while ago on my ride home bike was running fine and came to stop at the lights, bike died on me while idling in neutral, started up fine and as i was taking off it felt like i had no power, got it home and then it wouldn’t start. Ended up taking it to a shop but no luck on getting it to run again without dying after firing up. We switched out the coil pack, plugs, cleaned the carb, and new crank sensor, but still wont stay running once it turns over. There is good compression, fuel is being sent and spark is good also. We are at wits end with it and cant figure it out! Please if anyone has some more ideas or needs more information to help it’s greatly appreciated as it my only mode of transportation right now

What about the crank sensor? That is actually more more important than the cam sensor. When the motor dies, does it simply quit?

I know you say fuel is being sent but is it enough? I had a 1998 and my gas tank liner peeled off and would clog the petcock filter. Sounds like the same thing your experiencing, would stall, restart and stall again. Also check your battery ground cable at the battery and the frame. Even if tight, take it off and clean the mounting points.

OK, You need to put a light across the power side of the coil.. Ensure that it stays on.. If it does, probably the ignition module.. If it flickers or goes out, you've got a broken wire somewhere that is making intermittent contact. .

Another issue. Once this occurs, will the bike restart? or do you have to cycle the ignition first. If you have to cycle the ignition, it may be the bank angle sensor.

Try cleaning or replacing your speed sensor. My 03 Road King would do the exact same thing, turned out there was crud built up on the speed sensor.

I'd bet your RK was fuel injected..
