Default Fat Bob Seat

So I currently have a Saddlemen Step-up with the gel upgrade. I HATE it. I’ve had it for over a year and have over 5,000 miles on it. This weekend we did about 600 over two days and my tail bone is shot.

After this trip I decided it’s time to stop hating this one and just find something different. There are so many out there and I know it’s opinion but I need something with more comfort.

Here is my current set up…..what would you recommend?

I have Dyna Tallboy,Fatbob and Superglide Custom seats for my 2007 Streetbob all bought used from ebay for not much $.
My wife loves the Tallboy pillion but its my least favourite even though it looks like it should be the most comfortable,I find that it puts me too far forward.
The Fatbob seat is ok and I have done a few 400-500 mile days in that seat
My favorite is the Superglige Custom seat as its rider portion is slightly longer and easier to move around to ease discomfort when doing a long haul.
I do have mid controls which will make a difference.

I am in the same boat as you , still have the stock seat on my Bob, did try the tall boy and it was not for me , will be trying the sundowner model next and I am on the fence for getting an aftermarket because once you buy it you are stuck with it , versus the Harley seats you can demo them before buying ,

When I bought my Mustang seat, I had 10 days to try it out. Don't know if they still do that. After several attempts with other seats, the Vintage was perfect for me.

Just curious... how tall are you?

I have a Saddlemen stepup pro and I absolutely love it. Given it’s also not a touring seat, nor is it marketed that way. I don’t have a problem crushing a few hundred miles on it in a day, and feel ready for more.

if you’re looking for a touring seat, there are better options out there. As the stepup actually has a rather narrow pan, where as a touring style seat will be wider and more cupping and contoured than the step up. Something like a Mustang wide tripper or touring/ wide touring seat is probably more of what you’re after.

5’9

originally I bought it as everyone raved about them and I liked the look. Normally I don’t ride that long distance but even at 60 miles the seat kills my butt.

I’ll take a look at the mustang wide gripper
