dyna vs softie
how do you think they compare? I am asking the same question on the ST forum as well.
I am thinking between a night train, custom, or standard against a fat bob, lowrider or street bob.
I know the suspension is the major difference. What have your experiences been on either bike?

RE: dyna vs softie
Other than the suspension the only other major difference I am aware of is the way the motor is mounted. The softtail is a solid mount while the Dyna's are rubber mounted. The solid mounts require a counter balanced engine (not smart enough to know how that is done) but I understand the motor in the Dyna produces a little bit more torque and HP but I think the difference is very small.

RE: dyna vs softie
In addition to the better suspension, the Dyna incorporates the oil tank into engine case - and starting with the '06 models, eliminated all external oil lines. I also prefer the cast wheels which aren't available on the Softails (except for the Rocker).
In my perfect world, the Dynas would have the counterbalanced 96B engine but would retain all other Dyna features (integrated oil sump, external suspension, etc.)
