I am curious why you do not like the counterbalanced "B" motor.

Probably smooths out the vibes too much. I too am not fond of the B engine. I like the vibration at idle, but my Wide Glide smooths out at speed. It is even ahell of a lot smoother then my Intruder wich is supposed to be smoother because it is a 45degree twin....

If all softails look like this, I don't think there would be any question which one we would be a riding.[8D]

Yer on a dyna forum asking about a softail. Wow. I've been riding over 1/2 of my life. I wouldn't leave a dyna for nothin.
A dyna is a rubber mounted motor ver solid mount.
the softail has balancers which is something esle to fool with in my opinion.
If you want to go to a bagger that's why they make an electric glide classic, it has the same shocks as a dyna.
See if you can rent a couple of bikes. Then take them out and run the heck out of them on curvey roads.
You need to also figure out how tall you are. Some people buy softails cause they are closer to the ground.
I like the dyna's better than the rest of the bikes. Look at the length of the bikes, kind of bars, chrome, and how they are set up. Most of the bikes are different in these aspects that seperate them from one another.
You can also go to H-D web site and compare the bikes.
Wish you luck !
Me I will stick to the old wide glide myself. I'm 5' 10" 194lbs. Fits me like a glove.

No it doesn't. The touring models have a different front & rear suspension system than the Dynas. The baggers' rear air shocks provide a far more comfortable ride than the Dynas' conventional spring shocks.

The older models of EG had shocks on the outside. Have they already done away with the shocks and gone softails on them?
My buddy's that ride EGC say that's why they got them. A Touring bike has so much stuff on they I'd have to git down and look at them.
