Seat of the pants feel is better on a dyna, to me. I feel like the softy ain'texactly soft.

i think that will be the final determining factor. driving the two bikes will really tell me how it feels and what feels best to me. I just know that I don't want to be hunched over at all. the v rod was killer on my back.

My '04 Wide Glide is longer than the ST I sat on when I was looking. I'm 6'2", and even the fwd controls on my WG are still a bit close. I have also heard the ST's are not as rigid in terms of frame/suspension flex as the Dynas, but can't say that from experience, just from a friend who has ridden both. I love my WG, vibes and all and if I got another bike it would be a bagger, no doubt.

For whatever this is worth - it seems that the softies seem to hold their value a little better than the dynas. I love my wideglide and am a big fan of the softail custom. Night train too baby! Sounds like you are going to end up with something nice either way.

I'll jump to a bagger before a softie.
