Default how to remove & cut baffles

I have some V&H short shots and I've heard the baffles can be cut to give it a deeper sound + reduce "popping" during de-celeration.

I don't want to pay a mechanic ANOTHER 2 to 3 hundred dollars to do it. Can I get some help on how to remove them and where and how to cut them?

Thanks

If they are anything like the bid shot staggerd you need to remove the heat shields to get to the bolts that hold in the baffles. Also if you cut them down the baflfes they might rattle since the ends are the parts that fit tighter in the pipe.

should take about 40 minutes including cut time... check out the bike when it's cold. just a few bolts that hold the pipes on... so easy to remember.

to speed up the baffle process, take the pipes/heatshields off and then drill a hole in the heat shield where the baffle bolt is. then you can put the pipes back on and get to the baffles with no problem.

I did this on my Shorties. While not tough to do, it really isn't all that much better a sound IMO.
Thinking about trying some Big City Thunders in her next go around.
