I always thought the factory bulb was a bit weak. Took some advice from another thread and installed a Syvania Silverstar H4ST bulb (bought at Autozone for $20) and what a great difference. Huge. There were some that recommended PIAAs and haven't used them on a bike (have them on another vehicle though), but the convenience of getting this bulb at the corner Auto Zone was worth it.

This should be the standard bulb on these bikes.

I put one on my bike a couple weeks ago after reading the posts about them here. Makes all the difference in the world. Well worth the $20.

 

Agreed, factory is lame, and the H4ST does make a big difference without costing an arm and a leg...needed help, lots of deer around here !

 

just stay with the 60w. the bigger bulbs will melt stuff.
