Well aside from pulling over and giving the throttle arm a break I for one would use it on the long hauls.

I use the throttle "thingy" all the time.....only bad thing about it is that you want it break free with just the slightest touch, which means that the first little bumb lets the throttle slip...so I tend to tighten it a bit more, I ride at least 45min to an hour one way every day so I use it often so i scratch my butt, pick my nose, flip off truckers, use the cellphone(not really)

For me it's a poor circulation thingy... good for about an hour and then need to pullover and give the arm a break. I have thought about the screw thingy but justcan't bring myself tofeeling safe with it. I have been really concentrating on the death grip but that is hard to control with all the freakin logging trucks that run around here.

MCCruise might make one for the HD. Otherwise, I know a much cheaper route is to use the Audiovox one for about $100. Not sure of the ease of install tho, plus you might need to make a small vacuum canister and mount it somewhere as well. I just use the screw thingy if needed. Did you try a throttle rocker? How about a vista cruise? Good luck!

I have only used mine a few times and also was a bit unsure of how it would be in a panic situation so I have kept it on the loose side, still able to crank it down if necessary. Then I thought about just hittin' the kill switch but I don't know if that's a good idea (how is the engine compression on downshifts with no fuel? Haven't tried that one). But really, when you think about it, as quickly as something can go wrong at highway speeds, do you really want to have your right hand anywhere BUT on the throttle. Right near the front brake?

This is kind of pricey, but an option for consideration...
