Shor'tee upper belt guard on a 07 dyna?
I have a 07 Street Bob and wanted to put the Harley shor'tee upper belt guard on the bike, but its listed in the catalog as being for 06 Dyna's only. I've talked to a fewstealers and they can't come up with a reason why it wouldn't work with an 07. Has anyone installed one on an 07 Dyna, or know why it won't work, or know how to make it fit?

jbied,
I had an 06 Street Bob, with the shortee installed, bought an 07 and transfered all chrome over to 07 model, except the shortee belt guard, I'm not 100% sure, but I have been told that the sprocket is slightly a different size to the 06 models, even the 06 sprocket cover wouldn't fit. I think it has something to do with the sprocket size.

RE: Shor'tee upper belt guard on a 07 dyna?
I just talked to a service guy at the dealer, and your right, the 07 has a smaller 64 tooth sprocket, and the 06 has a 70 tooth. He put the shor'tee belt guard up to a 07 bike and said the bolt holes line up and it looked like the only possible issue is that the guard will sit 1/2 - 3/4" higher than the stock guard. He said that its possiblethat if the bike bottoms out, the guard may hit the fender, but he wasn't sure.
I just wanted to know if it could be modified to work, or if there is truely any issue to installing it as is.
