I have a 2000 Wideglide with the Harley Windshield. Mine is not detachable but after riding without one...I never ever want it to come off again anyway. It was already on the bike when I bought it so I've no idea what it costs. Have you checked E-bay?

Keep in mind that you can make almost any windshield a quick-detach.

I did it on my Suzuki Volusia.

You just need to cut a slot across the adjusting groove so you only need to loosen the bolts and not remove them completely.

You loosen the bolt and the windshield slides off. I'm sure you get the idea and now you can save some money and get a cheaper "non-detachable".

It's not cut in this pic, but I cut a slot right below the bolt. I cut it at sort of a V so it was easier to slide back on...worked great. (The pic is to show how I made HD lowers fit on my Suzuki. The lowers really helped me with the updraft from below the shield by the way.)

Heather, you shouldtry it...made washing the bike easier for me.

My windshield comes off with four bolts. It's really not a problem. And Sean washes the bike so again.....

I'd have to agree with HeatherC here. I put a detachable HD windshield on my WG and haven't taken it off. I rode my old Kawasaki without a windshield after getting spoiled with the windshield on the new bikeand it just sucked.

I bought one from Memphis Shades.
A good looking windshield and around $250.00.
It's qiuck detach, but I'll probably not take it off.
The only decision I had trouble with was what height to get.
Do you want to look through the glass or just over the top.
I know you didn't ask me but I'll tell you I chose to look over the top a bit.
I bought a 19 " tall shield.
It's as good a shield as any out there.
Gary
