Default 11" progressive shocks

I have ordered a set of 11" Progressive 412shocks for my 07 SuperGlide. A couple of questions: Has anyone installed these shocks and do they ride ok? Does someone know of an easy way to install the shorter shocks.
A couple of locals have mentioned that they will ride too rigid for everyday use. I am hoping that they are wrong.
thanks,

My brother put them on his Superglide, and i honestly don't think they are any better than my Bob's stockers.

He is pissed that he didn't get the 440s, but everyone on here raved about the 412s so he saved some money and ordered them...could've been that much closer to 440s.

Everyone has an opinion, and since i can ride both bikes back to back, my opinion is the 440s would be the way to go if you have the money.

I bought the Drag Specialties 11" rear shocks and Progressive fork lowering kit. Installed them myself in a day.. It can be done quicker but I was piddling around doing it.. They have adjustable preload settings so you can set them to your ride.. The shocks are very easy to install. I have a motorcycle lift. Raised bike, rear wheel just touching ground, removed OEM shocks, lowered bike jack just a bit so shock studs lined up with eye on shock, slipped shocks on, tightened nuts and finished... The instructions tell you to trim rear fender, above drive belt, it is somewhat fairly close , but I haven't trimmed mine yet..

Now the front fork lowering kit install was easy but more involved than they tell you...

I really like the lowered ride. It will take a little getting use to..

I've got the 11" Progressive HD 412s and love them. I weigh just under 200lbs and mostly only ride solo, but may occasionally decide to go two up, so that's why I got the HDs. Also put Progressive standard rate springs in the front and cut down the spacer to even out the ride height. Yeah, it's quite a bit stiffer and you definitely feel more bumps (the ones you can't avoid anyway- LOL), but with the lower ride height and a better seat (Mustang Solo) I really feel part of the bike now and sit IN it, not ON it. I prefer a stiffer ride and have found the bike much more responsive and planted to the road with far better and more linear handling characteristics compared to stock. Goes where I want it to now. Just MHO.

I got the non HD 412's. My riding is split about 70/30 solo/2 up, I like the way they ride and handle, and with the preload all the way up they are nice for 2 up.

Thanks guys.Looking forward to the low look and better handling. Thanks for your responses. The last Harley that I owned was in 1999. After a BMW and Ducati stint, it is good to be back.
