Dual Disc Brakes for a StreetBob?

RE: Dual Disc Brakes for a StreetBob?
Bobber Rider, did you put the Lindall set up on your Street Bob? And did you do both front and rear or just the front brake? I'm leaning towards this, though the Lindall website had the rotors going for +$500 and the pads for $56, so adding these to the V-Rod caliper won't be exactly cheap. On the other hand, someone did the install and had 20% more braking power as measured at 20 and 50 mph on actual tests! That's impressive and could save a life, so I'm thinking this is the route to go. Jay

if all you are lookin for is better braking, spend the money on pads and see what you think... it makes a big difference, just doiong the pads that is.
Dyna's calipers aren't **** anymore, they are four piston units
edit: meant to say "aren't ****" not "are ****"

RE: Dual Disc Brakes for a StreetBob?
I'd like to put a 49mm front endwith a 130 + tire on my '01 and looking at them I see they are all single disc except for the new Fat Bob; anyone know if the '01 discs will fit? I'd like to re-use my Lyndall's.....

the bembro v rod brake won't fit the street bob wheel and rotor. You would have to change to the super glide wheel to make it work.

i think thrillseeker is right - first just swap your stock pads with Lyndall ones and go from there.
the stock front caliper on the new Dynas is far advanced then before, and combined with quality
pads (even with the stock floating rotor) can provide proper braking force.
sharkey - as far as i can say your disk will fit the street-bob spoke wheel, but not the cast FXD and fat-bob ones.
