Default Wide Glide cartridge options

I am looking into upgrading my front suspension. What FXDWG options are there for fork cartridge kits? I don't see a Legend model for a 2015 Wide Glide. I only see Ohlins, Progressives, and Fox Racing on parts sites. I would prefer not to pay for the Ohlins if I can get something almost as good for less.

What maintenance intervals are there for cartridges. I have heard that a rebuild is necessary. Does that include more than just oil and seals?

Thanks!

Don't rule out cartridge emulators. They are very cost effective, and easy to install, to boot. Race Tech and Ricor both have quality products.

Don't you lose the ability to adjust them without taking apart your forks then.

Yes. If that's important then the emulators are not for you. Preload adjusters can be had separately, but compression and rebound damping are not externally adjustable.

at the cost of emulators and additional preload adjusters, I might as well go cartridges unless I'm missing something

I may be off base, but last time I did a front end I think the price of emulators plus springs was about half that of cartridges. Add in the preload adjusters (I didn't) and you're still way less expensive. Maybe things have changed...

I went with the ohlins NIX22 cartridges, the spring tension and dampening adjustments are all external.

$170 - Emulators
$150 - preload adjusters
$ ? - new spacers and having to drill the rods(if you don't do it yourself), and whatever else you need(springs, etc)

Cartridges from Revzilla
$499 - Progressive
$550 - Fox Factory
$850 - Ohlins

So I would say $150-200 more for the lower end cartridges is not that far off.
